Covid cases in school

Posted on Friday, January 14, 2022

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Just to update on the school since yesterday.
We have very low attendance again today.  Unfortunately as the day went on yesterday, we had more children with positive antigen tests. We now have 8 cases (positive antigen or PCR) in the school across all classes but predominantly in the junior room.
The guidelines have changed regarding testing and now a positive antigen test is sufficent. This link should answer any questions you have.
As outlined to parents yesterday, we have one case in the senior room arising out of a household close contact. However in the junior room we have many separate cases and just one case so far in the middle room.
The predominant symptoms reported are headache, fatigue and stomach pains.  Some children are also presenting with runny noses, sore throats and coughs.
As we have Covid cases in the school, parents should test their children Sunday evening or Monday morning if they have no symptoms.  Antigen tests can be ordered and reordered from this link School Roll no: 15997P
If your child has symptoms follow this link for advice or consult with your doctor or suitable healthcare professional.
School will operate as normal next week for pupils who can attend school. Parents should contact their class teacher [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] for collection of books or outline of work, if their child is well enough to complete schoolwork.
Any Covid related information should be communicated to me directly [email protected]  Let me know if your child has tested positive on antigen and/or PCR tests.
Wishing a speedy recovery to any of our pupils who are unwell and hopefully we will be through the worst by this time next week.
Kind regards,
Éilis Treacy
Principal
